Also, this just came in from the WDC Friends (Quakers):
Visiting Washington DC for the Presidential Inauguration?
Come enjoy some Friendly hospitality at the
INAUGURATION COMFORT STATION
offered by the Friends Meeting of Washington (Quakers)
Tuesday, January 20, 2009
10:00am to 6:00pm
-- Come in from the cold
-- Rest your feet
-- Enjoy a Simple Meal (hot soup!)
-- Get directions and information
-- Meet Friends and other travelers
ALL ARE WELCOME! It is not a partisan event, but an opportunity to offer hospitality to visitors
and activists advocating for peace and justice in the new presidential administration.
The Friends Meetinghouse is located near Dupont Circle at
2111 Florida Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20008
We’re accessible by public transit: Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle and use the Q Street (north) exit. Walk north (uphill) along Connecticut Ave. Turn left at R Street (at Starbucks). Turn right on Florida Avenue (at Nora’s Restaurant). Turn left on Decatur Place, and you’ll see our welcome signs.
MetroBus Route 42 also stops near the meetinghouse.
Transit conditions are expected to be crowded, and the bus and rail schedules somewhat unpredictable. We recommend checking the Metro website for updates:
