is in Session!
Prince is back, and with a wakeup tour
for mainstream music! For all you bubble-gum hip-hoppers who
don’t know the real meaning of entertainment (and the
rest of us who may have forgotten because we’ve been
inundated with so much garbage), its “Musicology”
time!!! One reviewer writes, “It’s rare that a
singer of Prince's artistry and career span is still alive
to walk an audience through his musical career. The opportunity
makes this show a must-see for any fan of pop music - a lesson
not to be missed.” Click here to read the full review:

The new album, “Musicology”
is topping the charts world-wide! From what I’ve heard,
it’s very much reminiscent of old school Prince…in
a “Kiss,” “Do Me Baby” kinda way.
Prince also contributes a version of Hendrix's "Red House"
(titled, of course, "Purple House") to a Jimi Hendrix
tribute compilation to be released on May 4th. The comp also
features tracks from Sting, Earth Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan,
Lenny Kravitz, and more.
An Open Letter To African Americans
From Latinos
In 50 years or so, Whites will no longer
be the majority in this country. Late last year, the statistics
came in: Latinos were sited as now the largest minority group
in the country. The widespread and divisive news reports sparked
the following heartfelt response from one Latino organization.
The letter was prepared by Elizabeth Martínez, longtime
activist, author and director of the Institute for MultiRacial
Justice, in consultation with Phil Hutchings, last chairman
of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and co-founder
of the Institute and currently an activist in Oakland.
The letter opens like so:
“Peoples of color are being
hurt more than ever today, thanks to the
"Permanent War on Terrorism" and the war at home.
It, therefore, seems more important than ever to build alliances
between our peoples who have similar struggles for liberation
from poverty and racism, for peace with justice.
This open letter is offered in that
spirit…”
