Joke: See You Later
A married man left work early one Friday
afternoon. Instead of going home, however, he spent the weekend
partying with the boys.
When he finally returned home on Sunday
night, his wife really got on his case and stayed on it. After
a couple of hours of swearing and screaming, his wife paused
and pointed at him and made him an offer. "How would
you like it if you didn't see me for a couple of days?"
The husband couldn't believe his luck,
so he looked up, smiled and said, "That would suit me
just fine!"
Monday went by and the man didn't see
his wife.
Tuesday and Wednesday went by and he still didn't see her.
Come Thursday, the swelling went down a bit and he could see
her a little out of the corner of his left eye :-)

Food for Thought…
Why don’t people care what they
put into their bodies? I just don’t understand. It’s
not like a car, or a pair of shoes…where you can dog
it out and just get a new one. It’s the only one we’ve
got! Is it just that we’re born with them, we didn’t
have to work to get them, so we take them for granted? Or,
is it purely ignorance? I guess it’s a little bit of
both…
On the other hand, I am amazed at the
products industry makes for human consumption? Whose bright
idea was it anyway to feed animal (waste!) products to other
non-meat-eating animals? What did they think the consequences
would be? And furthermore, now that they know, why won’t
they stop?! And, why are WE still eating it? Why aren’t
we demanding more, seeking and creating an industry for people
who don’t corrupt our food. If we were to begin to consume
ONLY organic foods, big business would get the message.
Anyway, there’s a lot of stuff
we don’t know as consumers. We don’t ask questions.
Maybe we don’t want to know. And, then there’s
the stuff we know and choose to ignore….hoping, I guess,
just to dodge the bullet. But, it’s your body for God’s
sake!!? It’s the only one you’ve got…!
Here’s just a little something
to know:
Butter vs Margarine
DO YOU KNOW...
The difference between margarine and
butter?
Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in
saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
Eating margarine can increase heart
disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter
according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption
of many other nutrients in other foods. Butter has many nutritional
benefits where margarine has
a few only because they are added!
Butter has been around for centuries
where margarine has been around
for less than 100 years.
Now for Margarine...
Very high in Trans Fatty Acids...
Triple risk of Coronary Heart
Disease...
Increases total cholesterol and
LDL (this is the bad cholesterol)
Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)....
Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold...
Lowers quality of breast milk ...
Decreases immune response...
Decreases insulin response. And
here is the most disturbing fact....
HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY
INTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away
from being PLASTIC...This fact
alone was enough to have me avoiding
margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated
(this means hydrogen is added, changing
the molecular structure of the substance).
YOU can try this yourself:
purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or
shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple
of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will
go near it (that should tell you something) ... it does not
rot or smell differently...because it has no nutritional value,
nothing will grow on it...even those teeny weeny microorganisms
will not a find a home to grow.
Why? Because it is nearly plastic.
It is not food. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread
that on your toast?
Just a little food for thought…..
