Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You to Know About - This is ABSOLUTE required reading for anyone who gives a rat’s a$& about their health. If you haven’t read the book already, you have probably heard about it or seen this guy, Kevin Trudeau on T.V. Well, the press has done a fairly good job at discrediting him but, that’s generally what happens when people are exposing fraud and telling the truth. I suggest you check it out for yourself!
Natural Cures exposes the true intentions of the pharmaceutical industry, the over-medication of America, as well as agricultural and environmental hazards that are negatively affecting our health. What I liked about the book was that it was plain-spoken – easily grasped by anyone – and that Trudeau, without coming off as a fanatic (which is very important, especially when trying to influence people’s thinking), offers viable solutions to changing your diet and health-style. Trudeau claims to have been privy to the following diatribe in a pharmaceutical board room:
“ I don’t care how much liver damage this drug causes, get it approved by the FDA. Pay whoever you have to pay, get the lobbyists that you have to get, but just get the drug approved. Do it, and our stock prices goes up threefold. We sell our stock and move on. And five years from now, when they find out about the liver damage, they’ll take the drug off the market. But, who cares, we’ll have our money. Just do it.”
That was just one of the early passages in the book that REALLY got my attention. Throughout the book, Trudeau contends that there are safe, inexpensive and effective ways to cure ANY disease. And, he demonstrates just how thoroughly “They” do not want you to know this.
Who are “They”? you ask: The Pharmaceutical Companies. Food Companies,Trade Associations, Major Charities and Foundations, Lobbyists, and Government Agencies. Trudeau exposes how all of these agencies work together to keep you sick and overweight, so they can reap the benefits. There is no profit in a cure, especially if the cure itself is natural and, therefore, cannot be patented. And, it is no wonder that America is the fattest country in the world. Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You to Know About is, as far as I know, still available at major bookstores ( I got my copy from Borders). You can also order a copy by calling 847.850.1476 or visiting www.naturalcures.com. Although, I will warn you, limited information is available on the site, UNLESS you become a member (and, for this cause, I’m not mad at him for that). I urge you to read it though, and read it with an open mind.
On another (related) note…
If you’re not eating organic, it’s time to start thinking about it. Organic is more expensive (and that’s an issue for a lot of people, myself included), and it’s not always convenient either. But, organic food is infinitely healthier and, I ‘m inclined to add that inorganic foods have little to no health benefits at all. Try to make the change gradually…and take your time doing it. For instance, my family has been consuming organic milk and eggs only for a number of years. About half the time, we eat organic vegetables but, again, it’s not always at my fingertips so, I haven’t always made the effort to go out of my way to get it. I’m working to change that. My son likes meat and, as I’ve always told him, I don’t have a problem with meat itself (I just don’t care for it personally), my problem is with what they do to it, and what they feed and give to the animals. So, now I’ve done a little research to find organic meat in the metro NYC area.
In addition to basic health benefits, organic foods don’t always look as perfect, but they taste fantastic! You wouldn’t believe all the things they do to our food – even the produce – dyes, waxes, chemical flavorings, genetic altering, preservatives, etc. Yes, I said even the produce! When the industry (“They”) get finished with it, it’s not even food anymore. (As a kid, I always wondered why The Jetson’s didn’t eat?) Certified Organic food is just that – the food and nothing but the food.
Organic vegetables are not so difficult to find. There are even organizations such as Urban Organic (www.urbanorganic.com) , that will deliver big boxes of seasonal organic produce right to your doorstep. If you are interested in this convenience, do an Internet search to find a company that does the same in your area. At the very least, get your produce from farmer’s markets, where food is fresher and may be grown with a minimal amount of pesticides.
To find organic meat and dairy visit the Organic Valley websites for store listings in your area: Visit http://organicvalley.coop/ for general information, soy and dairy products, and www.organicprairie.com for meats and poultry. Both sites have a complete listing of stores all over the U.S. that carry their Certified Organic products. Of course, there are other product lines you can look into too, such as Stonyfield Farms and Horizons.
Support organic farmers that care about the environment, their livestock, as well as your health. I’ve always thought that if we stopped buying inorganic products and processed foods, those industries would cease to exist. The ONLY way to make a real change in the world is, unfortunately, economic. Stop buying the product! Lord, how I wish we could do the same for gas….
Speaking of Organic….
If you are a wine drinker, it is the sulfites and the chemicals in the wine that are giving you that headache and, furthermore, aborting the natural health benefits of the nectar. There are tons of organic wine outlets on-line (just do a Google search for Organic Wines – you’ll be mind-boggled by the number of entries that come up) but, right here in NYC an organic wine retailer has recently opened its doors. Appellation Wine & Spirits - located at 156 Tenth Avenue, between 19th and 20th Streets - has wine-tastings every evening from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Call 212-741-9474 or visit the website for more information.
